BEING A FAITHFUL BUSINESS OWNER

This post may contain affiliate links. Read my Disclosure for more info.

Christians have the best renewal of the mind because of the resurrection power of The Lord Jesus Christ. The Word of God gives wisdom to business owners to manage their businesses effectivelyContributing tithe can be seen as security/insurance for the business to flourish.

A business owners you need to understand that God is on your side; he will lead and direct you and also give you great ideas. He will protect you and guide you every step on the way so how can you lose. Take for example men like Rock Feller who was very much and spent most of his time with God and his family, he even spent most of wealth for establishing the kingdom of God.
He was a God fearing, church attending, Bible believing Christian who never wavered in his faith and gave more money back to the betterment society than anyone else in history. He was a devoted husband and father that made time for his family while building the most profitable organization of its time.
RG LeTourneau – Because of Faith, Mr. Tourneau lived out his divine purpose through building this wonderful machines we now use. If you are looking to be a person of vision then you should put your trust in the Lord, just as Mr Tourneau did. “God wants to impregnate you with vision”. Habakkuk 2:2-4 Old Testament. This man wasn’t religious, he had a divine relationship!
Most importantly, his contribution to the advancement of the Gospel ranks him among the greatest of Christian Businessmen of all time. Famous for living on 10% of his income and giving 90% to the spread of the Gospel, LeTourneau exemplified what a Christian businessman should be.
Zig Ziglar – Zig was a devout Southern Baptist and throughout his career, he weaved Biblical truth into his speeches, books and trainings, indirectly sharing the Gospel to millions. Even though his audiences varied greatly, from corporate behemoths like GE and AT&T to small business luncheon crowds, and the topics he spoke and wrote about ranged from personal success to closing the sale, he was able to infuse Christianity in a professional and unobtrusive way. Rather than keep his faith quiet, Zig was able to share it with the world and reach an audience where the Gospel was not as prevalent; business, personal development and sales training.
These are fantastic examples of what happens when Christian business owners put God first in their business. They should remind us of the faithfulness of God. They proof that you can push business and stick to your biblical values and also use your influence for the gospel of God.
You should encourage all Christian business owners to follow the example of these great men and bot compromise on their faith and just wait and see what the lord will do.

HOW TO START A BIBLE JOURNAL FOR BEGINNERS?

Bible journaling – a creative process of making art in your Bible as a way to connect with scripture and with God.
Your Bible doesn’t have to be perfect or even pretty AND you don’t need to spend a bunch of money on supplies.
You can absolutely use the Bible you already have to begin Bible Journaling. But if you want more space, you can check out several budget friendly journaling Bibles.
There are basic things that we can do when we are journaling:
• Write prayers in the margins. (Remember to date the prayers- and come back later to add the answer and date answered!)
• Write what God speaks into your heart as you read a passage.
• Write sermon notes beside the scripture reference.
• Still not sure where to start? Here are some more great ideas:
• Keep doing what you are doing! Find some quiet time. When you are inspired to remember a verse or point, then write or illustrate in your Bible next to the scripture you studied that day.
• Use your concordance to read the Bible by topic. Choose a topic you want to learn more about and follow those verses through the Bible.
• If you read Christian living books, write or illustrate in your Bible next to the references that speak to you.
Now I am going to share some tips from Sara Laughed who is a lover of bile journaling.
#Tip 1Understanding what it’s all about
Alright, guys, let’s get one thing clear: Bible journaling is not about making the most beautiful art. I, myself, am guilty of wanting to make something really beautiful and impressive for the sake of, well… making something really beautiful and impressive. But that’s is not the right attitude – not in Bible journaling and not in life. Bible journaling isn’t about the outcome, it’s about the process. Focus on connecting with scripture and your belief, and the skill will come with time.
#Tip 2: Having the right tools
All you need to Bible journal is a Bible and a pen. If you want to expand a little bit, you can try coloured pencils, watercolour pencils, paints, stickers, washi tapes, and more. But to start out, all you need is “scripture and a scribbler.”
I use the Black ESV Single Column Journaling Bible by Crossway. I like that the pages are cream-colored, with lots of margin room that comes faintly lined. Here is an example blank spread, with some “ghosting” (when pens or highlighters show through the page a little) shown on the left side.
#Tip 3: Finding a verse
Alright, so you have your Bible, your pen(s), and maybe some extras, like paints, stamps, or stickers. The next thing to do is find a verse.
Bible journaling can be a little scary, especially if you’re not used to writing in your Bible before. For that reason, I recommend starting off with a verse that you know well and that means a lot to you. Starting with a verse that you are very familiar with helps take away some level of discomfort when it comes to journaling in your Bible for the first time, and it will help you come up with an idea faster. At the same time, if you choose your absolute favourite verse, it may be difficult to come up with a design that includes everything it means to you. For that reason, choose one you know well and like, but maybe not the verse you’d paint on your living room ceiling.
#Tip 4: Getting started
Alright, here comes the exciting part! Now that you have your tools and verse, and you’re excited to get going, it’s time to get started. Everyone has a different process for how they do this; you may want to pray first, or just get started; you may prefer to do some background research on the verse you’re doing so that you can add detail (that’s me – nerd alert!). In the end, what it comes down to is mustering up the courage to put pen to paper and make something that expresses how you feel. This is my process for the actual journaling process:
Reflect on the verse. Read it over a few times; maybe do a little background research. Let it sink into my bones. I think about the parts of the verse that mean something to me, and then I try to figure out how I can represent them in art.
Sketch it out with a pencil. I like to use a simple mechanical pencil to do my sketching so that I don’t make any permanent mistakes!
Outline it with pen. I use my skinny Pigma Microns to do this, as they don’t bleed through the paper.
Fill it in with colourNext, I use gel pens, colouredpencils, and watercolour pencils to add colour and dimension to my design!

30 WAYS TO GET ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN GOD

How important is it to be grounded in the Word of God?  Christians without the grounding of the Word of the God are completely lost; they have no direction and no knowledge of the gift of salvation.  If we don’t know the absolute truth, then how will we know the lie?  Without the truth we have no direction.  Truth be told without being grounded in the Word of God, we are on a road to destruction so here are a few ways you can follow to get grounded and rooted in God.

1. Spend some time learning God’s values, applying them in His way and you will find peace beyond all understanding that the bible talks about in John14:27 and Phil4:7.
2. Read the bible, or listen on Audio CD’s, watch and listen on DVD’s.
3. Find a bible believing church, worship and get connected.
4. Join a small group of men who are Christ followers and process life together.
5. Listen to Christian music, and men of God delivering powerful messages on the radio.
6. Allow a man of faith, good character and integrity, to mentor you, to become your   accountability partner.
7. Get involved in a weekly or daily devotional.
8. Learn the importance of prayer, and practice it.
9. Become like our Master, Jesus, follow him and copy his life.
10. Be filled with the fullness of God and comprehend the love of Christ.
11. Change from the old sinful man to the new life; abandon the old sins and habits.
12. Keep your commitment to the church, to your family and your work.
13. Learn the facts and truth of the scriptures.
14. Obey what doesn’t always make sense. Don’t live by sight, live by faith. (Colossians 2:7)
15. Love your bible, read it and study it; learn it inside and out.
16. Be grounded in love; be a Christian with substance.
17. See your way through the storm by trusting God to get you through it.
18. Plant yourself in God’s words.
19. Learn God’s principles as given to us in the Living Word of God, the bible and apply them in your life. (James1:22).
20. Develop and know the real love that out lasts your feelings and the performance of the other person.
21. Stop holding on forgiveness – forgive people who have hurt you on the same amount that God has forgiven you and you will be left with everlasting love.
22. Substitute lust and possessions for the truth.
23. Take God at His word, even when you don’t feel like it. You should put God’s Word over your feelings.
24. Strengthen your mind with the truth of God’s word and you will be able to stand any challenge.
25. Keep your roots in God’s hands so that you may be able to grow like a tree.
26. When you find yourself worrying and in fear, find your position in back at the feet of Christ.
27. Learn new ways to operate in life, how to operate from the position of God’s child.
28. Live in His Truth that His lover covers all, it is the foundation and the only source of our life.
29. Develop a lifestyle that is settled in God’s love and not on any other rule or power or philosophy.
30. Practice Matt28:19-20; “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the end of the age

SUCCESS SCARES ME

My blog Styling With Sheila J is a product of my live and you learn blog, ModelSavings.com.  I thought it was a good idea at the time but as the months turned into a year and a year turned into 2. I thought that that converting to word press self hosted from blogger not realizing how much of a financial burden this may cost me. Now as many of you know I am all about saving money, but I was wasting money more than making money and my blog was not doing what it was supposed to do. As my life began to spiral down hill, and began to feel all over the place so did my blog.
It took months of frustration and my blog being cut off and on from blue host for me to say enough was enough and ask God for clarity on what I should do by still remaining true to myself and what I wanted to do in my life and career. One day as I was on the phone with blue host trying to regain my domain name from them that was on lock due to a bank situation, I asked should I have even be doing this or should I just give up on this idea of model savings. The whole concept behind model savings was the fact that I am a model who loves to save money. However it seems as if that concept didn’t appeal to many models at all. The aggravation!
One thing is for sure my blog posts stylingwithsheilaj.com appealed to everyone, thus my new blog being called stylingwithsheilaj.com. Now what scares me is success, I just launched the first blog post on Jan 8th,2015 with the blog post 21 Apps that Will Make and Save You Money. I would have never guessed that a week later that same blog post would have went viral making my blog reach 22,000 view in under a months time. The irony of it all is that before I write every blog post is that I pray ask God to write my blog posts because with out him I am now nothing and I can not do anything with out him.
This idea of success scares me so much because I know success for me is right around the corner and I feel it coming very soon. And I have no idea of what to do with it. I have been struggling for so long that the idea of having a million dollars scares me. Why? Because with that comes taxes and with the a million ways that I have figured out how to make money from ,  I have no idea of how to maneuver with taxes and how to pay my taxes with so much money coming in. With money and success comes things that I am not used to. So god you are gonna have to do what you do best and help me in the process because lord knows I would not know what to do.
What does the bible say about success?
Proverbs 29:18King James Version (KJV)
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Granted I have a vision but I never imagined it happening this fast. It amazes me and it’s all because I sat down wrote out the vision like it says in Habakkuk 2:2.
“Success depends on three things: who says it, what he says, how he says it; and of these three things, what he says is the least important.”
When King David was about to die, he gave his son, Solomon, the following advice: “Do what the LORD your God commands and follow his teachings. Obey everything written in the Law of Moses. Then you will be a success, no matter what you do or where you go” (1 Kings 2:3 CEV).
Genesis 39:2-6 “The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority. So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field. Thus he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate.”
Psalm 1:1-3 “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”

If you are not walking with advice of the wicked nor standing in the way of sinners or the way that sinners are going and are also not sitting in the seat of people who talk bad about god then God will bless you. To be blessed means to literally make you happy to your hearts desires. Your happiness will naturally be in God’s law and you will meditate day or night (all the time) and this means that like a tree planted by a stream of water, you will never dry up or die because you will always produce godly fruit and everything you do will prosper
Proverbs 3:1-4 “My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.”
The Word of God and write the words onto the tablet of our heart. The heart, in the Jewish language, was the seat of intellect. Pretty much what you have to do is memorize the Bible well not all of it but some of it. If you do this you will have “length of days and years of life” and “you will find favor and good success.” What more could a man or woman want.
