Christians are known for doing some good things: helping the poor, feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, uplifting the broken, fighting for justice and many other acts of love.
But Christians are also known for having bad habits and the following are a few habits that every Christian should break out of;

1. Being Judgmental
One of the few sins Jesus repeatedly warns His followers not to do is be judgmental. Despite this, many Christians mistakenly assume that withholding judgment is a form of accepting, condoning and even affirming sin. But judgment from Christians doesn’t determine whether a particular belief, action or lifestyle is either wrong or righteous in the eyes of God.
2. Running Late: Consider Others, Give Yourself More Time
Philippians 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
When you run late it is a selfish act that says “my time is more important than yours.” Give yourself 10-15 more minutes than usual and eventually you will show up on time. It is better to early and give yourself time, than rush and show up late.
3. Overcomplicating the Love of Jesus
Following Jesus is very hard. It requires sacrifice, humility, service, patience, forgiveness and lots of love. It can be tempting—and much easier—to focus on specific parts of the Bible that don’t require as much endurance, are more flashy, will draw more attention and will instil a greater sense of excitement.
So some of us create a “Christian” platform that becomes our passion. A political agenda, social cause, moral practice or specific theological belief can become central to our faith—overtaking Jesus’ command to love others as yourself.
Thus, we get people who will practically fight to the death over things such as Calvinism, infant baptism and various other causes and doctrines. In and of themselves these things aren’t necessarily bad—everyone has their own convictions about theological issues—but when things are prioritized above Christ’s love, it leads to idolization.
4. Gossiping: Are You A Part of The Problem or Solution?
Proverbs 16:28 A forward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
Gossip is a very easy trap to get caught in. It is important to realize if you are a part of the problem or solution. If you are neither, then don’t listen because you don’t need gossip in your life. Do not get involved and tell the person nicely that it is something you don’t need to know.
5. Posting Garbage on Social Media
Posting vitriolic, superficial, and offensive content on our Facebook feeds and Twitter accounts doesn’t glorify God.
Before posting anything, stop and think: “Is this true, helpful, inspiring, necessary and kind?”
Ultimately, Jesus is what Christianity is all about, not political platforms, doctrinal disagreements, online religious commentary or ominous prophecies.
This rule has saved me from putting lots of foolish and reactionary content online, and it would do all Christians a world of good to carefully reflect on whether their social commentary is motivated by the love of Christ.
6. Procrastination: Stop Being Lazy
Psalm 119:15-16 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
Procrastinating is a terrible habit that can hold off and stop things that we plan to do because we become lazy. It is the complete opposite of diligence. Don’t put things off until last minute, get them done first — even if you don’t enjoy it.
7. Being Hypocritical
It’s easy to talk about God, argue theological issues and post about faith issues on all sorts of communication platforms. But in order to follow Christ, we are required to actually put our words into actions. As the old adage goes, we must practice what we preach.
Unfortunately, too many Christians talk about Christ’s love without actually being loving. Meanwhile, the rest of world witnesses this obvious contradiction and simply stops listening.
8. Being Closed-Minded
The problems listed above are often caused by being closed-minded—not considering, acknowledging or even dialoguing with the infinite amount of diverse factors that exist beyond our own limited experiences.
9. Bad Language and Lying: Become a Different Person, Use Different Words
Ephesians 4:22-24 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of the mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
It is nearly impossible to follow the Ten Commandmentsperfectly throughout our entire life. But, we can do our best to keep our eyes upon Jesus and walk with the Spirit. When we choose to walk in the Spirit rather than the flesh we will always choose the good thing (Gal 5:16-17).

God wants your bills to be paid, your needs met and your family blessed. He doesn’t hold back any blessings. God wants you blessed financially so that you can finance the gospel and establish his covenant. God wants you to honour him through your financial success.

The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your Children.”(Psalm 115:14)
In order to be blessed financially you must follow the financial principles that God has given us in His word. Jesus set out the most important principle, the principle of giving. “Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38)
When you give to God, He will give back to you in greater measure than you have given. The more you give to God, the more you will receive. I have seen the truth of this principle in my own life and even with the people at church. Those that are faithful in giving tithes and offerings are blessed financially, even in the midst of recession. We all have a choice to make. Whether we are going to believe God’s Word and be a generous giver or not? God blesses those who trust Him with their finances.
The lord will grant you abundant prosperity – in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground – in the land He swore to your ancestors to give you. The Lord will open the heavens, to send rain on your land in season and to bless the work of your hands. You will lend to may nations but will borrow from none. The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.” (Deuteronomy 28:11-13)
God blesses us so that we are blessings to others. (Gen 12:2) The bible teaches that God blesses use so that we will bless others. We not blessed to feel good, happy and comfortable. This is the first law of blessing and it must follow to those in need. We can bless other by serving their needs be it physical or emotional support or financial help.
The more you bless other people, the more God blesses your life. Luke 6:38 tells us, “Give away your life; you will find life given back, but not merely given back – given back with bonus and blessing.” You can’t out-give God. The more you give the more God pours His blessing upon you.
Malachi 3: 10 -12 tells us to; “Bring the whole tithe onto the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,”says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the flood gates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop before it is ripe;” says the Lord Almighty. Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land.

My blog Styling With Sheila J is a product of my live and you learn blog,  I thought it was a good idea at the time but as the months turned into a year and a year turned into 2. I thought that that converting to word press self hosted from blogger not realizing how much of a financial burden this may cost me. Now as many of you know I am all about saving money, but I was wasting money more than making money and my blog was not doing what it was supposed to do. As my life began to spiral down hill, and began to feel all over the place so did my blog.
It took months of frustration and my blog being cut off and on from blue host for me to say enough was enough and ask God for clarity on what I should do by still remaining true to myself and what I wanted to do in my life and career. One day as I was on the phone with blue host trying to regain my domain name from them that was on lock due to a bank situation, I asked should I have even be doing this or should I just give up on this idea of model savings. The whole concept behind model savings was the fact that I am a model who loves to save money. However it seems as if that concept didn’t appeal to many models at all. The aggravation!
One thing is for sure my blog posts appealed to everyone, thus my new blog being called Now what scares me is success, I just launched the first blog post on Jan 8th,2015 with the blog post 21 Apps that Will Make and Save You Money. I would have never guessed that a week later that same blog post would have went viral making my blog reach 22,000 view in under a months time. The irony of it all is that before I write every blog post is that I pray ask God to write my blog posts because with out him I am now nothing and I can not do anything with out him.
This idea of success scares me so much because I know success for me is right around the corner and I feel it coming very soon. And I have no idea of what to do with it. I have been struggling for so long that the idea of having a million dollars scares me. Why? Because with that comes taxes and with the a million ways that I have figured out how to make money from ,  I have no idea of how to maneuver with taxes and how to pay my taxes with so much money coming in. With money and success comes things that I am not used to. So god you are gonna have to do what you do best and help me in the process because lord knows I would not know what to do.
What does the bible say about success?
Proverbs 29:18King James Version (KJV)
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Granted I have a vision but I never imagined it happening this fast. It amazes me and it’s all because I sat down wrote out the vision like it says in Habakkuk 2:2.
“Success depends on three things: who says it, what he says, how he says it; and of these three things, what he says is the least important.”
When King David was about to die, he gave his son, Solomon, the following advice: “Do what the LORD your God commands and follow his teachings. Obey everything written in the Law of Moses. Then you will be a success, no matter what you do or where you go” (1 Kings 2:3 CEV).
Genesis 39:2-6 “The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority. So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field. Thus he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate.”
Psalm 1:1-3 “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”

If you are not walking with advice of the wicked nor standing in the way of sinners or the way that sinners are going and are also not sitting in the seat of people who talk bad about god then God will bless you. To be blessed means to literally make you happy to your hearts desires. Your happiness will naturally be in God’s law and you will meditate day or night (all the time) and this means that like a tree planted by a stream of water, you will never dry up or die because you will always produce godly fruit and everything you do will prosper
Proverbs 3:1-4 “My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.”
The Word of God and write the words onto the tablet of our heart. The heart, in the Jewish language, was the seat of intellect. Pretty much what you have to do is memorize the Bible well not all of it but some of it. If you do this you will have “length of days and years of life” and “you will find favor and good success.” What more could a man or woman want.
