Month: July 2016

Year in and year out we always set goals and resolutions that we hope to achieve throughout the year. But as the year goes by, it gets very difficult for us to follow through with our plans and that can be very frustrating as we discover that achieving goals is more than just saying or writing what we desire; but being committed, focused and consistent. To avoid the frustration, there is a better way for us to achieve our goals and that is through God and there are scriptures that can lead us in the right direct. Let’s look at Philippians 3:14; “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
We have to desire the best so that we can be able to train and exercise harder during the offseason so that we can prepare our minds and bodies to reach our goal for the upcoming season. We have to pray and be disciplined through the waiting period in the God will take us to the Promised Land (the achievement of our goals).
In order for us to achieve our goals we have to make sure that they are in alignment with God’s words and understand His vision for our lives. We should not look at goal setting and achievement in the eyes of the world as that would be defying the laws of our Father. When we set goals according to God’s vision for our life, we will be more focused, creative and be energised to keep pressing on. Most importantly we will be less stressed.
Achievement through God need us to have deepest desire which will give us energy to carryon. Without desire we can’t really achieve our goals because then they become wishes which never come true. We have always be taught that we can have anything that we want, but truth is, we can’t have everything we want but only what we need.
We must have enhanced faith, not only to belief but to know that all that we do will come to pass. We should expect it and it will happen. The most important characteristic is to change our habit. Make achieving our goal a priority/a habit. We have to keep working on it until it comes to pass. We have to maintain our reality. We also have to cheerful put effort into achieving our goals because we are confident that the rewards will be worth it. Our intention can literally our lives as we make our goals into a reality as our minds will be 100% focused into achieving your goals.

Respect your body for Christ
1 Corinthians 6:12-20 gives us great examples of what God says about the importance of your body to His word. Today I want to take you through the verses of this scripture to show you how important your physical health makes a big part of your spiritual life.

Verse 12: “All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be dominated by anything.” Our bodies are a gift from God and he has given them to us for a reason therefore we have to use it according to His will.
Verse 13: “Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food and God will destroy both one and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immortality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.” Our bodies are the sole property of the Lord therefore they have to be used for His glory.
Verse 14: “And God raised us up by His power.” Our bodies are a temple of God therefore one day He will resurrect your body and give you a better version of yourself.
Verse 15 & 18“Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ. Shall I then take the members of a prostitute? Never. Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.” In God’s eyes sin against the body is the worst kind because He considers the body as His precious treasure. Our bodies are connected to Christ, we have to respect it.
Verse 19&20: “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” This is my favourite verse because it goes straight to the point. Our bodies are not ours, but Gods because he bought them by giving up His one and only begotten son. What more can we ask for.
With all that being said. I just wanted you to see that you are valuable, you are a treasure. Keep your body is great shape and honour God.

Overcoming infidelity in a relationship with God
Sometimes it is difficult to act happy or be thankful when you are still waiting for that 1 thing that every person in the world longs to become, a parent. Sometimes it is difficult to find happiness and joy when you are going through trials and tribulations. But we have to keep going, you have to keep your head up and look at the amazing things that God has given you. If you are finding it difficult to keep your head up, here are a few things you can try to hang onto:

God is supreme and boss of your life. Here is one thing that you need to know; you are not in charge of your life and even the bible tells us so. Yes He has given us an opportunity to save souls but He is in charge of everything else. He is the one who brought us into existence therefore He will not seat and watch you stay in pain.
God knows that is best for you for you, He always does what is best for you. There is one who knows what we need and what is best for you than God. God gives some people more space and chance to plan out and implement their plans more than he allows others to even dream. But that doesn’t mean that He loves some people more than He loves others. God loves us all the same and everything works together for God for those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28) We need to understand that God sees things differently than we do and His timing is always perfect.
God’s timing is always perfect. God is wiser than we are and His timing is always perfect. There are some things that God doesn’t and we can never understand until we meet face to face with but rest assured everything that He does benefits us. He chooses different people for different and unique tasks because He know what we can handle. He can’t entrust some people with His valuable gifts until He has prepared them to handle those gifts.
Yes no one likes to suffer but suffering chances our character and brings us closer to God which produces good results in our lives. During this time we draw closer to God and more away from our circumstances. We focus more on what we need from God than what we are experiencing in this life.

Learning patience through God
Part of becoming spiritually mature is learning the difference between “no” and “not yet,” between a denial and a delay. The Bible tells us, “He who is coming will come and will not delay.” (Hebrews 10:37 NIV)

If you’re discouraged because God is delaying to answer your prayers, then you have to understand that the delay is NOT a denial. Just because the answer hasn’t come – YET – that doesn’t mean God is not going to answer or that he’s forgotten you or that he doesn’t care about you.
It simply means “not yet!” So you have learn to be patient. Not only once but for every minute you spend working to pass the test. Until you pass the test that God has given you, you will not see any changes in your life. But you have to be patience in your journey and you might not feel the pain of the wait. You have to let the patience be you, it should be a part of your life or rather your lifestyle. God tests you so that you could you can realise His faithfulness in all your trials.
There is purpose in the process of your trials. Hebrews 12:2 says; waiting on God forces us to look to Him. We are forced to cast our eyes into Him as the source of our faith. It reminds us that Christ’s death and life is the reason we can be filled with and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Trials cause us to continue by increasing our knowledge of God and relying on Him on all that we do. Standing patiently when we wait on the Lord does not mean being stuck at a dead end or in the middle of nowhere. Ephesians 6 tells us to “put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then.”
To hold ground by remaining obedient to the Lord while waiting is not being passive. Realise that the word stand is repeated three times. Patience is an act of the will to claim ground for the Kingdom of God, and is rewarded richly by Him. Revelation 3:10-11 talk about God’s care for those who persevere through the battle.
Whether we feel we lack patience to wait on God, or to continue to love those that may be hard to love, we do it knowing that we have access to all the patience we need. We can trust God to give us the strength to bear our circumstances and instead wasting time questioning Him and trusting in Him and His word.
