Although at this 21st century, billons of people are actually confused about the usefulness of prayers especially when they in need of something. Christian philosopher and scientist blasé paschal (623_662) wrote that ‘the heart has it reasons of which reason knows noting ‘actually most people doesn’t believe in prayers in regards to when they needs something and which is the realest fact about life.

Christians have the best renewal of the mind because of the resurrection power of The Lord Jesus Christ. The Word of God gives wisdom to business owners to manage their businesses effectivelyContributing tithe can be seen as security/insurance for the business to flourish.

A business owners you need to understand that God is on your side; he will lead and direct you and also give you great ideas. He will protect you and guide you every step on the way so how can you lose. Take for example men like Rock Feller who was very much and spent most of his time with God and his family, he even spent most of wealth for establishing the kingdom of God.
He was a God fearing, church attending, Bible believing Christian who never wavered in his faith and gave more money back to the betterment society than anyone else in history. He was a devoted husband and father that made time for his family while building the most profitable organization of its time.
RG LeTourneau – Because of Faith, Mr. Tourneau lived out his divine purpose through building this wonderful machines we now use. If you are looking to be a person of vision then you should put your trust in the Lord, just as Mr Tourneau did. “God wants to impregnate you with vision”. Habakkuk 2:2-4 Old Testament. This man wasn’t religious, he had a divine relationship!
Most importantly, his contribution to the advancement of the Gospel ranks him among the greatest of Christian Businessmen of all time. Famous for living on 10% of his income and giving 90% to the spread of the Gospel, LeTourneau exemplified what a Christian businessman should be.
Zig Ziglar – Zig was a devout Southern Baptist and throughout his career, he weaved Biblical truth into his speeches, books and trainings, indirectly sharing the Gospel to millions. Even though his audiences varied greatly, from corporate behemoths like GE and AT&T to small business luncheon crowds, and the topics he spoke and wrote about ranged from personal success to closing the sale, he was able to infuse Christianity in a professional and unobtrusive way. Rather than keep his faith quiet, Zig was able to share it with the world and reach an audience where the Gospel was not as prevalent; business, personal development and sales training.
These are fantastic examples of what happens when Christian business owners put God first in their business. They should remind us of the faithfulness of God. They proof that you can push business and stick to your biblical values and also use your influence for the gospel of God.
You should encourage all Christian business owners to follow the example of these great men and bot compromise on their faith and just wait and see what the lord will do.

Find your spiritual way with God

Are you discovering your spiritual gifts and putting them to good use? If you have been procrastinating, well you are missing out as this one of the most exciting adventures a person can have with God.

The Bible says spiritual gifts are abilities God bestows on every believer for the common good of the body of Christ. They’re a large part of the answer to the question, “What should I do with the life God gave me?”
We all know that very spiritual gift is a reflection of God’s nature that we carry within us. And because our spiritual gift reflects God’s design and direction for our lives, we find great passion, joy, and satisfaction in expressing it.
Today I going to share tips to help you to find your spiritual path with God.
Understand Your Calling as a Child of God
The reality is, God has revealed most of His will to us in His Word already.
All Christians are “called to be saints” (Romans 1:7). In fact, the word “church” in the original Greek refers to those “called out”—in a spiritual sense, called out of the world to God. So every Christian has a divine purpose: “to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called” (Ephesians 4:1). We have a purpose as servants of Christ to carry out the instructions He left with His apostles—to proclaim the Gospel and make disciples in all the nations of the world (Matthew 28:19-20).
Notice the things that energise you and seem to come naturally.
Every spiritual gift gives off clues. Your spiritual gift will cause you to react a certain way in a given situation. If there’s a problem, people with the spiritual gift of shepherding will be immediately concerned that people are cared for and growing in Christ-likeness as a result of the issue. Those with the gift of intercession (prayer) will immediately say, “We need to pray about this,” while those with a leadership gift will begin looking at solutions for the problem.
Identify Your Spiritual Gifts
Discovering God’s will and calling at a personal level can be a little more challenging.
A good place to start is by identifying your spiritual gift(s). God has created each of us with special talents and abilities, but He’s also given us unique gifts powered by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:11). Our spiritual gifts are a serious indicator of what God expects us to do for Him (Romans 12:4-8).
The best way to identify your spiritual gift is to start serving in various capacities. What brings you joy? Where are you bearing fruit? Seek out ways to minister within your church and community. Be sure to get counsel from others about the effectiveness of your ministry—if you are sure you know your spiritual gift(s), there should be other, wise believers that agree.
Exercise your options
Once you’ve gathered enough information to create a list of some possible gifts (perhaps gifts of mercy, evangelism, encouragement, or hospitality), exercise your options. A great place to start would be a volunteer position at your church. While you’re trying it out, you’ll start to discern whether you’re good at it or not. Also, others will tell you!
In 2 Timothy 1:6, the apostle Paul encourages Timothy to “fan into flame the gift of God.” We’re responsible to develop our gifts. Perhaps one of the best ways to do that is to mentor someone who’s just starting on this discovery process. People with the spiritual gift of wisdom are probably the best people to develop someone else with the spiritual gift of wisdom, and so on for each of the gifts.
Live Actively, Not Passively
Don’t wait for God to show you His personal will. Assume that you are in His will today and that He will guide you and reveal more as you walk with Him. That means it’s time to take action.
Many of us wish God would send us a letter in the mail detailing the next five years. And even though we know He won’t, we can waste our energy sitting around waiting for that clear “sign.” Or worse, allow other people to control and direct the course of our life. But we were each designed to actively fulfill a unique purpose during our time on earth—one that both glorifies our Father and brings us great joy!
When God gives us the direction we seek, we need to be faithful stewards of that will and act on it. It is God’s responsibility to show us His will for our life and our responsibility to nurture His calling and perfect it for His glory.
Challenge yourself to pursue His will and perfect it for His glory as you embark on this new year.

10 bible verses for when you are over thinking

When we over think; it is when we think too much, instead of acting on things. It is when we analyse, comment and repeat the same thoughts over and over again instead of acting.

Over thinking happens when something bad happens, we think about the worst scenarios, with thoughts like “what if?” or “why?”; when we slip now and then into negative thinking patterns, and when we worry about past mistakes or current problems and issues, and how they might lead to negative outcomes.
This habit prevents us from taking action. It consumes our energy, disables our ability to make decisions, and puts us on a loop of thinking and thinking over and again.
Here are 10 Bible verses for when you’re over thinking, to help you get back to a more peaceful, faithful place.
1. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
2. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14
3. Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your hearts on things above, not on earthly things.” – Colossians 3:1-2
4. Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” – Galatians 1:10
5. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us…” – Hebrews 12:1
6. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 10:5
7. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” – Matthew 6:33-34
8. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid: do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
9. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7
10. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” – Proverbs 4:23
When we don’t over think, we become more efficient, more peaceful and more happy.

How important is it to be grounded in the Word of God?  Christians without the grounding of the Word of the God are completely lost; they have no direction and no knowledge of the gift of salvation.  If we don’t know the absolute truth, then how will we know the lie?  Without the truth we have no direction.  Truth be told without being grounded in the Word of God, we are on a road to destruction so here are a few ways you can follow to get grounded and rooted in God.

1. Spend some time learning God’s values, applying them in His way and you will find peace beyond all understanding that the bible talks about in John14:27 and Phil4:7.
2. Read the bible, or listen on Audio CD’s, watch and listen on DVD’s.
3. Find a bible believing church, worship and get connected.
4. Join a small group of men who are Christ followers and process life together.
5. Listen to Christian music, and men of God delivering powerful messages on the radio.
6. Allow a man of faith, good character and integrity, to mentor you, to become your   accountability partner.
7. Get involved in a weekly or daily devotional.
8. Learn the importance of prayer, and practice it.
9. Become like our Master, Jesus, follow him and copy his life.
10. Be filled with the fullness of God and comprehend the love of Christ.
11. Change from the old sinful man to the new life; abandon the old sins and habits.
12. Keep your commitment to the church, to your family and your work.
13. Learn the facts and truth of the scriptures.
14. Obey what doesn’t always make sense. Don’t live by sight, live by faith. (Colossians 2:7)
15. Love your bible, read it and study it; learn it inside and out.
16. Be grounded in love; be a Christian with substance.
17. See your way through the storm by trusting God to get you through it.
18. Plant yourself in God’s words.
19. Learn God’s principles as given to us in the Living Word of God, the bible and apply them in your life. (James1:22).
20. Develop and know the real love that out lasts your feelings and the performance of the other person.
21. Stop holding on forgiveness – forgive people who have hurt you on the same amount that God has forgiven you and you will be left with everlasting love.
22. Substitute lust and possessions for the truth.
23. Take God at His word, even when you don’t feel like it. You should put God’s Word over your feelings.
24. Strengthen your mind with the truth of God’s word and you will be able to stand any challenge.
25. Keep your roots in God’s hands so that you may be able to grow like a tree.
26. When you find yourself worrying and in fear, find your position in back at the feet of Christ.
27. Learn new ways to operate in life, how to operate from the position of God’s child.
28. Live in His Truth that His lover covers all, it is the foundation and the only source of our life.
29. Develop a lifestyle that is settled in God’s love and not on any other rule or power or philosophy.
30. Practice Matt28:19-20; “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the end of the age

Many of us spend a lifetime chasing after dreams only to find emptiness in their accomplishment. Others never really make it to their dreams and leave themselves to failure. Dream chasing is only relevant when it is rooted in God’s calling in your life. When God triggers a dream in your heart, you will not be able to let it go – you will chase it until God’s purpose has been fulfilled.

Dreams are considered to be goals and visions that fire your heart and saturates your soul with joy at the very thought of them, in the eyes of the God. Your destiny and reason for living is wrapped up tightly in your dreams and desires. Your dream is that vision for your life that burns inside of you which can’t top down or ignore for long. It keeps coming back because it is a part who you are.
God designed every member of the human race to have dreams. They are a way of finding fulfilment. The Bible says, “If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done” (Ecclesiastes 11:4).
If you wait for perfect conditions to follow your calling, you’ll never get started. Things won’t settle down. Wait until you get out of debt before tithing, and you’ll never get back on your feet financially.
“Now may the God of peace…equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work us what is pleasing to him” (Hebrews 13:20-21)
David was far from the comforts of his home and the king’s palace when he was on the run. He had to learn how to his way through treacherous territories and the Lord always provided a place for David to hide. He was provided food and provisions through Abigail, his future wife. When Saul was close to capturing David, the Lord provided the distraction with the Philistines in battle. God knows what we need and when we it when we are making our way towards our dreams. (1 Samuel 22:5, 25:18)
A dream cannot be built on ego. It cannot be built on tradition–because the company expects it or your family expects it. None of these foundations will support your dream.
You must build your dreams on something that will last. Only two things in the entire world will last forever: truth and people. Heaven and earth will pass away, but God’s Word will never pass away. You have to build your dream on that never-changing foundation.
David wasn’t perfect before, during, or after he was crowned king; however the Scriptures support that he was a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22) David was faithful tending the sheep when God planted the seed of purpose in his heart. We can be faithfully going about our daily business when God suddenly awakens our hearts to a greater purpose. The chasing of dreams will be filled with moments of joy and distress; yet it will be worth it when we receive the crown of life from our father.

You know sometimes we give our love to the wrong people. Love is something special and the greatest love was given to us from Jesus. However, he is usually the first to be forgotten. We are so quick to give our love and affection to the people of the world that we lose sight of the real person who needs our love. Jesus just wants our love that’s it. It is no hard but society makes it hard and it should not be this way.
With today being Valentine’s Day I thought I would do a special post for Jesus and write him a letter, not just any letter but a deep and devotional letter filled with prophecies in it that will be filled. It is already as they said besides it is the year of the harvest and nothing comes close to giving my Jesus love than writing him a letter this year. I am single and the only boyfriend, best friend , husband I need is my Jesus.
Dear Jesus,
Let me just start off by saying I don’t praise you enough the way that I should, I don’t read my bible as much as I should, I don’t ask for what I want as much as I do. But yet even though I don’t ask for the smallest things you still manage to give it all to me. You still give me grace knowing that I am not perfect and I still make mistakes. This is a new process for me surrendering to you myself and all of my flaws to be worked in and out Its not easy to work with me because sometimes I feel like I am stuck in my old ways but I know you got me.
I just want to be taken cleaned up and made brand new.  I want to thank you for everything you have done and everything you are doing in my life and thank you for you taking me out of situations that I didn’t deserve or ask to be in. You give us grace even when we don’t deserve it. I need to ask for more things that I want so that you can help me work on these things,

A free gym membership would be nice lol
Time management I need help with that
Guide me in the right direction
My blog
My career my success is all in you
My patience needs some work but you know this
A vocal and acting coach
More people on my team to help me expand my business!
Organization skills
Jesus, when you are with me nothing seems difficult; but when I forget you everything is a mess and I can not forgive myself.
your voice to me is the most precious sound in existence. I need your voice to speak to me with comfort to get me through my day.
“The Master is come, and he calls for you” (John 11:28).
I would be a fool to not put you first in all that I do. I can not go into any situation without having you on my mind Jesus. I can not want anything else if it is not for you Jesus. The world without you is just that a world lost and needs to be found again. To be without you is hell on earth; being with you Jesus is like sweet Candy land. As long as you are with me no enemy can hurt me.
Finding you the only treasure that I want to find. The best thing in life is you. I know that I am blessed to have blessings, I do not want to know poverty.
I want to know how to have a conversation with you like no other speak to me how you want to speak to me. I want your mind and want to live life so gracefully. Give me peace and the ability to please you.
Lord, heal my heart so that I can have you with me at all times.
God you made us to be your friend in you, that is why we exist but we have a purpose beyond that. It is to fulfill your vision and your work. I don’t want to drive you away and lose your. What would I do if this happens! You were my friend when no one else was.  I can deal with having the whole world against me than to lose you. I trust you and what you are doing in my life because I know it is something amazing.
I love you Jesus! Because I have love for you, I can therefore love others around me. You are as faithful to me as I am to you and have never left me even in my worst times. you are God and there is no one like you! Jesus , my prayer  is that you would be in me and in every person who calls on you.
I just ask for everything abundantly and for your grace!
Happy Valentine’s Day

your daughter

My blog Styling With Sheila J is a product of my live and you learn blog, ModelSavings.com.  I thought it was a good idea at the time but as the months turned into a year and a year turned into 2. I thought that that converting to word press self hosted from blogger not realizing how much of a financial burden this may cost me. Now as many of you know I am all about saving money, but I was wasting money more than making money and my blog was not doing what it was supposed to do. As my life began to spiral down hill, and began to feel all over the place so did my blog.
It took months of frustration and my blog being cut off and on from blue host for me to say enough was enough and ask God for clarity on what I should do by still remaining true to myself and what I wanted to do in my life and career. One day as I was on the phone with blue host trying to regain my domain name from them that was on lock due to a bank situation, I asked should I have even be doing this or should I just give up on this idea of model savings. The whole concept behind model savings was the fact that I am a model who loves to save money. However it seems as if that concept didn’t appeal to many models at all. The aggravation!
One thing is for sure my blog posts stylingwithsheilaj.com appealed to everyone, thus my new blog being called stylingwithsheilaj.com. Now what scares me is success, I just launched the first blog post on Jan 8th,2015 with the blog post 21 Apps that Will Make and Save You Money. I would have never guessed that a week later that same blog post would have went viral making my blog reach 22,000 view in under a months time. The irony of it all is that before I write every blog post is that I pray ask God to write my blog posts because with out him I am now nothing and I can not do anything with out him.
This idea of success scares me so much because I know success for me is right around the corner and I feel it coming very soon. And I have no idea of what to do with it. I have been struggling for so long that the idea of having a million dollars scares me. Why? Because with that comes taxes and with the a million ways that I have figured out how to make money from ,  I have no idea of how to maneuver with taxes and how to pay my taxes with so much money coming in. With money and success comes things that I am not used to. So god you are gonna have to do what you do best and help me in the process because lord knows I would not know what to do.
What does the bible say about success?
Proverbs 29:18King James Version (KJV)
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Granted I have a vision but I never imagined it happening this fast. It amazes me and it’s all because I sat down wrote out the vision like it says in Habakkuk 2:2.
“Success depends on three things: who says it, what he says, how he says it; and of these three things, what he says is the least important.”
When King David was about to die, he gave his son, Solomon, the following advice: “Do what the LORD your God commands and follow his teachings. Obey everything written in the Law of Moses. Then you will be a success, no matter what you do or where you go” (1 Kings 2:3 CEV).
Genesis 39:2-6 “The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority. So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field. Thus he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate.”
Psalm 1:1-3 “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”

If you are not walking with advice of the wicked nor standing in the way of sinners or the way that sinners are going and are also not sitting in the seat of people who talk bad about god then God will bless you. To be blessed means to literally make you happy to your hearts desires. Your happiness will naturally be in God’s law and you will meditate day or night (all the time) and this means that like a tree planted by a stream of water, you will never dry up or die because you will always produce godly fruit and everything you do will prosper
Proverbs 3:1-4 “My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.”
The Word of God and write the words onto the tablet of our heart. The heart, in the Jewish language, was the seat of intellect. Pretty much what you have to do is memorize the Bible well not all of it but some of it. If you do this you will have “length of days and years of life” and “you will find favor and good success.” What more could a man or woman want.

There’s is a place that you get to where you are like God just do what you have to do. I do not know about you, however I know that I worry a lot and this is a lot I don’t know why I do this but I do. I wish I was not like the type to worry about this but I am.
I worry about where I am going to stay, how am I going to get by the next day, how can I promote and flourish in my career more. I know I am not just a model, I am more than just that. However I cannot do this by myself. I need to stop worry and I have been asking God to do this. I do not want the Devil to take away my peace, and if you take away my peace than you can take away my mind. Jesus I rebuke this and we can not allow this to happen.
The ultimate solution to anxiety is to take the things that cause it—doubts and fears—to God. He is eager to help us deal with these common emotions in the right way so that we can experience true peace in our hearts and minds. He cares for us, and He wants us to cast our cares on Him. Prayer is a key to a stronger relationship with God and to dealing with worry. Pray more, worry less!
God wants to help you deal with the anxieties in your life. He wants you to bring your doubts, worries and fears to Him. Don’t wait. Write down at least one thing you are worried about right now, and turn it over to God. Ask God to help you start dealing with your worries more effectively by trusting Him and committing your life to His will.
Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
1 Peter 5:6-7
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
2 Corinthians 1:8-10
For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us…
Paul understood that God is the only true source of help. Paul faced many anxiety-inducing situations in his ministry and travels, but consistently trusted that God would provide deliverance from these situations that were beyond human control.

I was always told to stick to one talent, but I always thought that I am destined to be multi talented. Is it a bad thing to be exceptional at many talents? I am not quite sure, but now days it is rare for people to do just one thing at least that’s how I feel. I am sorry that I do not fit your mold, wait I am not sorry. I am not going to apologize for being me and doing things that I love.
I believe the word to describe us as Emilie from Puttylike would use is multipotentialite what does that mean exactly? “A multipotentialite is a person who has many different interests and creative pursuits in life. Multipotentialites have no “one true calling” the way specialists do. Being a multipotentialite is our destiny. We have many paths and we pursue all of them, either sequentially or simultaneously (or both). Multipotentialites thrive on learning, exploring, and mastering new skills. We are excellent at bringing disparate ideas together in creative ways. This makes us incredible innovators and problem solvers. When it comes to new interests that emerge, our insatiable curiosity leads us to absorb everything we can get our hands on. As a result, we pick up new skills fast and tend to be a wealth of information. ” Puttylike.com
I would think that being great at many things means you then become more valuable to someone else. I never really could stick to one thing growing up so I do not know why people think they can change this fact about me. This is the way God made me I have to accept it.
If no one else can accept this than they are not supposed to understand your vision, move on there’s more people out there that will understand your vision and believe in your success. Just make sure you put gods kingdom first and everything else will follow.
What does the bible say about having multiple talents?
The gifts that we have been given are not just ours they also belong to God. God gave them to us for the purpose of putting HIM first and serving other people.
We all have something to give. We can give our money and our time to volunteer for a worthy cause, be a friend to someone who is sick or lonely,or be a peacemaker, teacher or minister.  Some of us may choose an occupation that is service based. We may just do our everyday jobs with a humble heart and respect for others. We also may receive gifts that are of the creative side of the world.
Apostle Paul said this:
“We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. ” (NIV, Romans 12:5-8)
In His Parable of the Talents, Jesus taught that we must use our gifts carefully. A talent was a very large sum of money, about 80 pounds (36 kg) of silver. Before leaving on a journey, a very wealthy man trusted his wealth to his servants for a brief time that he will be away. Two of the servants used the money carefully to earn income for their master. However, the third servant did not put the money to good use, and the master was very upset with this matter. The parable is written below:
“Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them. To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.
“After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’ “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
“The man with the two talents also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.’ “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
“Then the man who had received the one talent came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’ “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
“‘Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (NIV, Matthew 25:14-30)
The master represents God in this parable, and the servants represent us. The English word talent, meaning our natural abilities, is derived from this parable. It would make sense that that is the case behind this. The lesson of this parable is that we must use our talents and abilities, as well as our wealth, in God’s service.
If we do not use our talents for the greater good of God than he will be upset with us, and consider us to be of the world and not of him.
One might think that if we give more than what we have we lose more but I believe that you can get true blessings and wealth from using your talents and sharing them with others. Service to others brings a deeper meaning to life that just having money, power can not buy.
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. (TNIV, Luke 6:38)
If singers can become actors and than have there own clothing line, be dancers than why cant I have many talents and businesses in fields that I wish to be in.
We are all unique and special in our own ways and it may take us a while to figure out what are talent and purpose is for each of these talents but we are all important to the kingdom of God and ensuring that his will on earth is done. We are not of the world we are of God.
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. (NRSV, 1 Corinthians 12:4-7)
