HE LOVED HER WITH HIS EYES

A man of few words he let his actions speak, he saw her in ways others could only fathom and he gave light to her greatness. But she begged for those words, just 3 simple words was all she needed to hear to confirm what she
already knew. Yet he dared not address them, you see those words have shifted his world too many times. The quiet submission of those words relinquished him to be easily broken at her whim. When he held her in his eyes she felt every syllable but heard not. She could see the passion barreling from his pupils, yet the silence that echoed seemed to be uncomfortable for her assurance of his heart. She needed those words from a man whose voice had grown meek, but his gestures quite opposite. To him talk was cheap and life had shown him that what you do and don’t do reflects the heart. But for her his actions began to play second fiddle to the desires of her inner ear that needed to hear him confirm what he has shown, confirm what she had seen and felt. He was a man yet he began to lose value over 3 simple words that held great power and also great pain as he had learned in past passions of purpose. He loved her but he knew uttering those words meant losing himself again after he worked so hard to find who he was. The ball seemed to be in his court, and despite his Jordan-esqe effort the game seemed to be on the line and he had one last shot. What would you choose if in his shoes? He gave her the world what more did he have to prove? It seemed these 3 words held him captive yet again and diminished his efforts, the only way he could win is if he was willing to lose.

4 IMPORTANT FACTORS TO BEING A CHRISTIAN

1. You have to be Bold. You should not allow fear to consume you. Don’t let it get in the way of you sharing your faith. You should always proclaim the kingdom of God no matter where you are; be you. Stand for what you believe in and not even let any cowardly behaviour get in your way. You should not lack confidence as confidence comes from the Lord.

2. Love unconditionally. Love the way God loves us and the way you love yourself. Remember that God is love and this is deeply reflected in the Bible. He is able to reach use even in our darkest times, our sufferings and pain; nothing can separate us from His love. This is the kind of love we should preach and live in the world.
3. Pray regularly. In everything you do and everywhere you go you should pray. Prayer should be your lifestyle, it should be your all time trade that people will always remember you by. When we fail to pray on a regular, daily basis, and we don’t readHis Word, we show that He is not really that important to us and we are not being faithful.

4. Abstain from sin. Christians still sin, but they do not remain in sin or keep on sinning as if nothing is wrong. We can’t act like we don’t know right and wrong, we have to lead by example and proof that really we have been born again and we know what sin is.

HABITS EVERY CHRISTIAN SHOULD DEVELOP

“In the morning, O Lord, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch”. – Psalm 5:3

1. Study the Word of God. Don’t just read it. Study it. Study means digging into the Word, delving into its deeper meanings, applying it to your life.
2. Memorize the Word of God. Hiding God’s Word in your heart will make it readily available to you when you need it. There may be times coming when we will not be permitted to carry our Bibles with us wherever we go. Memorizing Scripture will enable you to carry it with you all the time.  Remember: What you plant in your heart can never be taken away from you.
3. Encourage yourself in the Lord. “But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.” (1 Samuel 30:6 ESV) We spend a lot of our time encouraging and rooting for everyone else (which is what we should be doing!), but when it comes to encouraging ourselves we lack that skill.  We tend to expect that others should encourage and root for us, but when that does not happen (as it often does not) we become disappointed, discouraged and disheartened.
4. Pray without ceasing. This means that we are to carry on a running conversation with the Lord all day long. Prayer is both a privilege and a responsibility. Through prayer we communicate with God and He communicates with us. When we pray, we should do more listening than talking because God is way smarter than we are.
5. Fellowship with other believers. Jesus made it clear that as the times grow darker, the more should we believers gather together in prayer, worship, and fellowship. The members of the Body of Christ need one another to stay strong, to grow, and to fulfill Christ’s purpose for His Church.
6. Relying on God’s provision instead of the lack of money. Monetary is not necessarily needed. God’s currency is not necessarily monetary; He also deals in favour.
7. Be sensitive to Holy Spirit’s leading. Each morning, ask Him where He is working today in your circle of influence then follow Him there.
8. Don’t believe the lies and hype of the enemy. Abstain from jumping to conclusions as to how or what God is doing.
9. Reminding yourself of His promises and His goodness. Check your thoughts and adjust them accordingly.
10. Acknowledge to yourself that He has heard you. We tend to assume that because something we prayed about in our lives is not currently evident, that God has not heard our prayers.
“Not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one other; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” – Hebrews 10:25
