WHY SO SALTY? - Styling With Sheila J

It is seriously funny how the first time I heard the phrase salty it was a term used to roast your friends and make jokes but these jokes are usually not very good to some effect. I know this because a lot of people that did not make it into my life this year would use this word behind my back on Facebook.

Some friends right!

However after being in church at the Rock church for a few months the term salty has a new meaning to me. It has this positive uplifting meaning. Go be salty and spread yourself to the world to be fruitful and salty in someone else’s life. You can never go bad with to much salt but you can go bad with out any salt at all.

Matthew 5:13

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.

What is salt? By definition it is: A substance used for seasoning certain kinds of food, and for the preservation of meat.

For what purpose was it made?

To season: To render palatable, or to give a higher relish to, by the addition or mixture of another substance more pungent or pleasant; as, to season meat with salt.

To preserve: To save from decay. Salt is used to preserve meat.

To cure: To dry; to prepare for preservation; as, to prepare by salt, or in any manner, so as to prevent speedy purification.

We are to salt the world with are presence that is why it is so important that we are doing what we are supposed to do as christians if we do not how can someone be saved from their demons out there. We need to be the ones that cure this world of sin.

We are to speak well-seasoned or salted words. (1 Corinthians 13:1) “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.” We are to speak with love.

Stop complaining over what is wrong in your life, and start speaking life over your life. How can you help people if you keep complaining about what is going on in your life it is not fair to the person you are trying to save and help.
