What is beauty through Christ?
In the eyes of the Lord, we have always been told that we are beautiful regardless of what the world says and their standards. But do we really understand what beauty is through Christ? In the eyes of
the Lord the true beauty of a woman is on the inside and the outside. How a woman looks in the eyes of the God is more important because that is beauty that doesn’t fade nor ceaseThis is the beauty that every woman should work to keep. There are scriptures that give us the exact examples of what God finds attractive in us.
1 Peter 3:3-4 tells us, “Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel—rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.” God wants us to be of quiet spirit. This doesn’t mean we have to be silent and not speak our mind. But it means that we should not have argumentative spirit. We should not be too quick to judge, argue or fight to have our way. We should be peaceful and respectful to others. The book of Proverbs talks about women who are angry and how difficult it is for others to live with them nor communicate with them. This is the kind of woman that is not attractive in the eyes of the Lord.
An attractive woman in the eyes of God is one who doesn’t compete with men. She understand the strengths and value that she possess. A woman who fears God is also seen attractive to the Father. She has to put God first and strive to do what He has commanded her to do. She has to continue strengthening her relationship with Him so that she can grow spiritually.
Proverbs 31: 30 reads, “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.”
It is within every woman’s reach to become the beautiful woman God intended her to be. She should be beautiful on the outside, beautiful on the inside and, most importantly, weshould be beautiful to God. Remember God doesn’t see the way man does. I Samuel 16:7 says, “But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’” God looks a lot deeper than the physical appearance. This scripture shows us just how God looks at us.
A woman’s beauty is goes a lot deeper than just the physical appearance. Many women believe that physical looks is all that is required, and pay little attention to their inner beauty or how they look to God. They end looking nice, but in the long run have very little other value.
We should strive to be beautiful inside and outside. We should take care of yourself physically, develop and maintain your inner beauty, and most importantly, strive to look your best to God!
