How to celebrate your birthday with God
Father, thank You for seeing me through yet another yearand the opportunity to celebrate with You.
I would like to kick start my birthday with a bang and in style, well my own true personal style. Word is a have thing about birthdays. I see them as God’s gift to celebrate the people he has made each one of us to be and as an opportunity to take a moment and reflect on where we are in the process of fulfilling His purpose for our lives.
It is a day when you are supposed to have a private joyous meeting with God; a day where you are supposed to spend some time out in the serene quiet place; either on to of a rock admiring nature or in a bench in the shade at a nearby park; with your bible and your notebook. Read your bible, reflect back, look forward, and talk to God and listen to Him when he provides you with the answers of where you are in your spiritual development process. Most importantly, end by writing a prayer filled with thanks giving and requests of future blessings; keep it your bible or journals so that you can be able to reflect back on it during the year.
I believe that the purpose of our birthdays is to reflect and to keep track of what we have been assigned to achieve by God.
It is good to be thankful for what we have and what you have accomplished. But if we are to appreciate the fruits of life, we must first appreciate the tree that bears the fruit which is birth itself. Birth is your beginning. It is a window to the chance of a lifetime, the chance to fulfil our unique mission. So a birthday is a memorable occasion to always be commemorated.
You can also celebrate your birthday by committing to a special act of goodness. It is easy enough to say you are thankful; it is far better to show it by doing a kind deed, something that you did not do yesterday. Not because someone is forcing you. Not because someone suggests it. But simply because your inner goodness, your soul, wants to express its gratitude for being born and alive.
Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain…” 1 Chronicles 4:10.
